A free add-on for MetaMask

Access0x1 Payments for MetaMask

See who you are paying, the fee and what the business receives, before you sign. No guessing at a wall of numbers: a short, plain panel in MetaMask, right where you decide.

MetaMask will ask you to approve it. Nothing is added until you say yes.

Good to know. MetaMask has not yet approved this Snap for its public directory. Until it does, adding it needs MetaMask Flask, MetaMask’s early-access edition, because the Snap uses permissions that MetaMask keeps for approved Snaps. We will update this page when that changes.

What the Snap shows you

Three screens in MetaMask, each in plain words.

1. The payment panel

When you pay a business through Access0x1, the panel names the business, shows a check mark when its name matches the one it registered, and lists the amount, what the business receives, the fee and the network. If you pay with a token you already hold, it also shows the path the payment takes.

How it is paid

You pay with WETH  →  Uniswap  →  merchant paid in USDC

Uniswap swaps it inside this same payment. Anything unused comes back to you.

2. The permit approval

Paying with another token goes through Permit2, a Uniswap feature that lets you approve one payment with a signature. The panel says which token, the most it can spend and when it stops working, in one calm screen. It turns red only when a permit has no limit.

Only Access0x1 payments can use this, once, to pay a business in the transaction you send next. The swap returns anything unused to you in that same transaction. It does not approve anything else.

No limit on this permit

It lets a payment use your whole balance of this token. Only continue if you trust this business.

3. The Snap’s home page

How fees work

One fee rule per payment. The business’s own fee rule applies if it has one, otherwise the rule for its app, otherwise the standard rule. A rule can have a minimum. You see the exact fee before you sign.

Your money is never held. The business is paid straight away, in the same transaction.

How it looks in MetaMask. The Snap's own page, opened from the Snaps menu. It says what the Snap does, where it works and how fees work.

The pictures are examples with made-up details. Your own screens carry the real business, amount and fee.

Payment notifications for businesses

Get a MetaMask notification each time a customer pays you.

Enter your merchant number and pick the network you are paid on. MetaMask will ask you to confirm. After that it looks for new payments to you every 10 minutes while MetaMask is open, and tells you about each one.

The only thing it uses to look is your merchant number. Nothing else about you is sent. Add the Snap first with the button at the top of this page.

Your merchant number is the one Access0x1 gave you when it set you up. MetaMask must be set to the same network.

Questions

Is it safe?
Yes, in the way that matters most. The Snap never holds your keys or your money, and it signs nothing. It cannot send a payment or ask you for a signature. It only shows you what you are about to approve, and you still decide in MetaMask.
What does it read?
Only what is needed to explain a payment: the payment you are about to approve, the business's registered name and fee from the public record, the name of the token, and the business's public name and logo from access0x1.com. For that last step the only thing sent is the merchant number. It does not read your balances, your other apps or anything else in your wallet.
Which networks does it work on?
Base, Unichain, Arc and Ethereum. Those are the networks Access0x1 is live on today.
Does it cost anything?
Adding the Snap is free. The fee you see in the payment panel is the normal Access0x1 fee, shown before you sign, so there are no surprises.
Can I read how it works?
Yes. The Snap’s code is public on GitHub, so anyone can read exactly what it does. Its safety and how Access0x1 handles money are on the Security page.
Who do I ask for help?
